Perhaps it is a presence which makes the heart of a champion visible to the human soul and which transforms a great Thoroughbred into a legend. For many, Zenyatta displayed all the qualities of a legend when she made her electrifying move for the finish line in the 2009 Breeder's Cup Classic at Santa Anita. It was here that for the first time in her career, Zenyatta was tested at the classic distance of 1 ¼ miles and in doing so defeated a world class field of 12 males. With an undefeated record of 16-0,  Zenyatta's historic win secured her place in history as a champion by being the only female in 26 years to win the Breeder's Cup Classic.
